Your domain name is extremely important for promoting your site. Ideally
you want a short, descriptive name that is easy to spell, does not have abutting
letters and can be spoken over the telephone without being spelled out.
A
few examples:
-
BuyRightNow.com may be a good choice; byeritenow.com is
a poor choice.
reason: the
homophonic name makes the domain
difficult to explain orally, and the name itself does not imply what the
services/theme the site offers.
-
SampleCo.com would be a good choice (assuming that Sample.com is not available), whereas SampleCompanyIncorporated.com
is a poor one.
reason:
the domain name is unreasonable long. imagine the email
addresses:
smith.john@SampleCompanyIncorporated.com
(40 characters!)
-
Someexcellentthing.com is a poor choice.
reason: the
abutment of letters make the domain name difficult to read, especially the
vowels.
